Jackson County Jail houses a combination of violent and non-violent offenders for both men and women. The ADC is under the authority of the County’s Sheriff but is funded and maintained by the Board of Supervisors. Four basic types of inmates are in custody at the Jackson County Jail – recently arrested awaiting bond, those awaiting trial without bond, recently convicted awaiting transfer to a State facility and parole violators. There are no State inmates at the County’s Jail.
